Sorry I haven’t posted in the last couple of weeks. We are in the process of moving and there hasn’t been much extra time for blogging or birding.  Plus we didn’t have TV/internet access for 10 days.  (Still not sure that was such a bad thing.)  I did get in a few hours birding last weekend.  Saw another Osprey at Driftwood.  I am not sure it wasn’t in the area all summer.  But then back to fixing things up, unpacking, and resting up from the move. Should be able to bird this weekend but will be gone next week for work.  So I am really looking to  get back into a regular pattern Labor Day Weekend.

The blog is one-year old today.  Which according to something I read I have outlasted 99% of all people who start blogs. Who knows if that is accurate.

More on all these subjects in the coming months.

Thanks for reading and responding, Bob.

  1. Thank you for taking the time to keep the blog going. I really enjoy it. I have gone to see some of the birds you’ve seen. I now bird at Driftwood. I didn’t know it was there before.

You motivated me to do a Shelby county year. I’ve seen birds here because you saw them in Johnson County. The area I birded is on my way to work and around my home. I have 110 so far. This is the most I’ve ever seen in a year in Shelby county. I haven’t added any since June, but the time is coming when I’m sure I will.

Please keep the blog going. I’m sure I’m not the only one who enjoys it.

    Happy birding!

    1. As always thanks for the reply. I am glad I’m not the only one that birds Driftwood. I usually take a walk around the north part of the area. (The south part is in Bartholomew County) It takes about an hour and usually turns up something, like a Blackburnian Warbler yesterday. I still plan to bird there even though I now live in South Indianapolis.

Keep working on your Shelby list. Like you, I didn’t add anything from mid-June until last week when the Great Egret showed up. In the next couple of months you should be able to add all sorts of things to it. Let us know periodically how it is going.

And I don’t plan to stop blogging. Still have a lot of things I want like to write about. And of course report on the birds.
